Description

We discuss the limits of effectiveness, safety, choice of depth and the role of microneedling and skin biostimulator delivery techniques in treating scars, dyschromia, texture and skin quality. Current reviews show that microneedling has broad dermatological use and, in selected indications, may be more effective than older single-method procedures. Key stages of the course:
1. Tissue biostimulators – what has strong evidence
The strongest therapeutic evidence is for PLLA and diluted CaHA, as systematic reviews and consensus statements exist for improving skin quality, elasticity, firmness, laxity and selected volumetric indications on the face and body. We discuss biostimulation mechanisms, patient profiles, the difference between volumetric and quality goals, dilution schemes, injection layers and the risk of nodules, irregularities and overcorrection.
2. Collagen, tropocollagen and other biostimulating products
You will receive an organised overview of biostimulating products: their place in skin-quality treatments, the differences between historical collagen fillers and newer regenerative products, and the current quality of evidence. We show where marketing ends and real biology and clinical practice begin. Data for injectable collagen and tropocollagen are available but still less extensive than for PLLA and CaHA, so in the programme they are classed as methods with a more limited level of evidence.
3. Exosomes in regenerative medicine
- mechanisms of action (miRNA, cytokines, growth factors)
- effects on fibroblasts and the ECM
- anti-ageing
- scars
- recovery after treatments
- limitations and the current level of evidence
4. Skin quality vs a volumetric approach
- volumisation
- biostimulation
- when NOT to use volumisation
- natural rejuvenation – trends and evidence
5. Combining skin biostimulation with energy-based technologies
We discuss indications for combining microneedling with skin biostimulators. We teach how to use diluted stimulators, elixirs and medical ampoules with CaHA and PLLA, and layered therapies targeting laxity, texture, photodamage, pores, fine lines and loss of skin density. We explain how to intensively improve skin quality while remodelling the supporting tissue. Example: PLLA or CaHA + energy-based technologies (laser, RF, HIFU…) improve quality and firmness. The right intervals, correct sequencing and a realistic view of the biology and physiology of the treated tissue are essential. Most data today concern combining biostimulators with other minimally invasive techniques in a layered strategy.
