Description
Ayurvedic hair and scalp therapy – Shiro Abhyanga in therapeutic practice

About the course
Advanced training combining traditional Ayurvedic techniques with a modern approach to scalp and hair therapy. The programme focuses on problems such as hair loss, weak follicles, sebaceous gland imbalance, stress and tension that affect scalp condition.
The course is built on Shiro Abhyanga – a classic head massage from Ayurveda that has been part of hair care and rebalancing the body for thousands of years. In Indian tradition, healthy, thick, strong hair is a symbol of vitality and femininity, and its care is based on regular oiling, massage and working with the body’s energy.

The Ayurvedic approach to hair – the doshas
In Ayurveda, the condition of the hair reflects the balance of three basic energies (doshas):
Vata (air + ether)
- signs: dry, brittle hair, hair loss, dullness
- therapy: intensive nourishment, heavy oils, calming massage
Pitta (fire + water)
- signs: oiliness, inflammation, dandruff, greying
- therapy: cooling, anti-inflammatory action, sebum regulation
Kapha (earth + water)
- signs: heavy, oily hair, lack of volume
- therapy: stimulation, improved circulation, light oils
Therapy with oils and plant extracts
One of the most important parts of the course is working consciously with oils and plant extracts, used in Ayurveda for thousands of years as natural “medicines” for the hair and scalp.
